about us

Hi, I’m Rebecca and the man responsible for most of the photographs is my husband, Dan. We are lucky enough to live on the South Island of New Zealand and spend as many weekends as possible exploring both our home country and many others. Our aim is to prove how easy it is to fit the most into the limited time available, there are 52 weekends each year - what are you going to do with them?

Lake Tekapo is only a 2-3 hour drive from Christchurch on the South Island. It’s one of the few places in the world renowned for it’s night skies. It’s also great for short hikes, mountain biking, and scenery. In winter it becomes a wonderland of ski slopes, ice-skating, and hot pools. Look out for my blogs about what to do here shortly.

The Heaphy Track is classed as one of New Zealand’s great walks. It takes 4-5 days to walk and by the end you will be experiencing the ‘Heaphy shuffle’. My stories about the Heaphy and other New Zealand great walks will follow soon.
