A seaside cafe with a difference - Bonobo
A special shout out from me goes to this corner cafe in the Christchurch beach town of Sumner.
This place is quite literally awesome and makes you appreciate that vegan food can be totally creative and super tasty. Even Dan has been won over by their imaginative sandwiches and burgers.
The owners of Bonobo have opened the cafe in order to raise funds to realise their dream of establishing an animal sanctuary. I am so happy to support them in their quest. This place is special. There is heaps of seating both inside and out. Inside the walls have been painted bright uplifting colours which cheer you up on even the dreariest days, and the food cabinet is crammed with a whole range of delicious, tasty treats to choose from. I would however recommend ordering from the main menu. There are so many amazing options that you can’t go wrong. Bagels with sundried tomato mouse and dukka covered avocado that does work, through too bang bang noodles and even a mushroom ragout with polenta
The flavours and choices are delicious. Don’t forget those burgers - there is life with no meat!
